About Atelier Medida
Atelier Medida began with a single piece, not as a collection, but as a decision.
“Medida” means measure. It defines the process as much as the result. Each object is built around proportion, tension, and material integrity.
The form remains disciplined. The material is allowed presence.
Atelier Medida works exclusively with high-grade deadstock leathers sourced from luxury productions. Materials originally developed to exist at the highest level and now available only in limited quantities. Because these leathers are finite, every piece is inherently limited by what exists. No restocks. No repetition beyond what the material allows.
Some editions consist of only a few pieces. Others become singular objects.
Scarcity is not constructed. It is embedded in the process.
Each object becomes a specific moment of availability: a unique specimen shaped by proportion and material character.
The Story
Atelier Medida was founded in Vienna by Wanda, whose work moves between design, craftsmanship and material research. Her practice is driven by a fascination with exceptional leathers — their surface and texture, but also their origin, history and intended purpose.
In mid-2025, Wanda began developing and making every bag herself from her Vienna home. Approximately one hundred bags were created during that first year. As certain materials were exhausted, interest concentrated around specific editions and waiting lists formed for particular leathers and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Today, Atelier Medida is growing with intention through carefully selected production partnerships. Creative direction, material selection, edition structure and quality standards remain guided by Wanda from Vienna.
What began as a one-person atelier is evolving into an independent leather-goods label without abandoning the principles that shaped its beginning: exceptional materials, controlled availability and distinctive, precise form.
Atelier Medida exists at the intersection of rarity, material excellence, and measured design.
